At Mondou, we strive every day to be the trusted and heartfelt destination for pet parents. This ambition is part of a broader vision driven by the Legault Group, which brings together the Mondou, Ren’s Pet and Homes Alive Pets banners. With more than 170 stores across Canada, the Legault Group is a leader in the pet industry. It manufactures, distributes and markets, among other things, pet food, treats and accessories, while offering in-store a wide selection of national brands and exclusive brands such as Vetdiet, Romeo, O'Select, BeOneBreed, Tux and many others.
In this context, animal well‑being remains at the heart of our mission and values. To support this commitment with rigor and consistency, the Legault Group relies on an independent expert committee: C.A.R.E.
What Is C.A.R.E.?
C.A.R.E., the Committee for Animal Responsibility and Engagement, brings together recognized experts with diverse and complementary areas of expertise. Its mission is to inform the Legault Group’s thinking, decisions and initiatives related to animal well‑being, drawing on sound knowledge and responsible practices.
The committee’s members come from various Canadian provinces, including Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, providing a national perspective that reflects best practices across the country. Their expertise spans key areas such as animal health, nutrition, behavioural science, ethics and research. They are selected for their credibility, experience and recognized contributions within their respective fields.
The Mission of the C.A.R.E. Committee
The C.A.R.E. committee ensures that our decisions and actions remain aligned with our commitment to animal well‑being, supported by the expertise of independent specialists. It helps anticipate emerging trends and stay at the forefront of evolving standards across Canada, while ensuring that our brands, products, services and initiatives meaningfully contribute to improving the lives of animals.
C.A.R.E. also plays an important role in strengthening the Legault Group’s credibility and building lasting relationships of trust with customers, partners and the broader community.
