Why choose quality food?
Better health:
With superior-grade ingredients, your dog will have more energy, better muscle tone and better overall health.
Smaller portions:
With premium food, your dog needs to eat less to get all the nutrients required for good health. In the end, you save money, because every bag lasts longer.
Less waste:
How would you like to have less doggie-do to pick up? By feeding your dog high-quality food, stools will be smaller! Moreover, top-of-the-line foods also contain ingredients like Yucca schidigera, which helps reduce unpleasant odours.
Hair loss:
High-quality food promotes healthy skin and a shiny coat, resulting in less hair loss.
Ingredients you can count on:
Have you ever noticed the expression "ingredients may vary" on a dog food label? Simply put, it means that the manufacturer can use whichever ingredients are cheapest at any given time. But with quality food, the ingredients always remain the same, so you know exactly what you're buying for your furry friend.
Which formula is best for my dog?
Puppies:
Puppies need puppy food until they stop growing. Puppy food contains all the ingredients needed to ensure proper growth.
It's also important to choose puppy food according to the size of the breed at adulthood. Puppy food for large breeds is specially designed to help them grow slowly, which helps prevent the joint problems often encountered later in life as a result of overly rapid growth.
Adult dogs:
Once grown, your dog will need adult dog food.
Active dogs:
High-performance food contains ingredients that provide your dog with a higher energy intake. Use this kind of food for show, hunting and work dogs, and in the winter for dogs that live outside.
Older dogs:
Foods for canine seniors are specially designed to meet the needs of aging dogs. They are low in calories and high in fibre, both of which minimize the risk of obesity and stimulate intestinal movement.
Overweight dogs:
Choose a light food with a low caloric content and ingredients that specifically promote weight loss.
How to introduce your dog to a new food?
Easy transition:
Not only does it take dogs some time to get accustomed to the taste of a new food, but their digestive systems are also not designed to deal with abrupt changes in diet. The best way to ease the transition is to mix the new food with your dog's usual food incrementally over a three-week period. For the first week, the proportion should be one quarter new food to three quarters usual food. By the fourth week, your dog should be receiving only the new food.
No table scraps:
Food that people eat does not provide the nutrition dogs need, and in fact, it may do them more harm than good. Moreover, giving your dog food off your plate can lead to undesirable behaviours, such as begging at the table. If you want to give your dog a treat, it's better to provide specially designed dog biscuits and treats.
