How to wash your dog
  1. Leash or hold your dog while bathing it; this is to keep your dog from jumping out and getting injured.
  2. Always test the water temperature on your wrist before wetting your dog. The water should be lukewarm.
  3. Start by wetting the paws, and see how your dog reacts. If it’s calm, wet gradually from the tip of the tail to the neck. Avoid getting its head very wet.
  4. Lather up your dog, making sure to avoid the eyes and ears.
  5. Always rinse the coat well, making sure not to leave any soapy residue.
  6. Let your dog shake off excess water while still in the tub.
How to groom your dog
  1. Start by drying your dog with a towel in order to remove excess water.
  2. Once done, brush your dog, starting with the paws, which tend to get tangled more easily.
  3. To avoid dermatitis, a skin infection caused by excessive moisture, always dry your pet’s coat thoroughly, regardless of the season.
  4. Brush your dog to remove any remaining tangles.
